Corre
Corre is an audio/visual collective from Bristol, between UK-based artists Henry Green and Hattie Ellis.
Formed in 2017, the project was inspired by the possibility that two contrasting elements can coalesce and work effectively. This concept is reflected in the audio through a classical/electronic collision and in the visual pairing of natural, raw images with obscure overlays to inspire a creative response.
There’s a dualism that runs throughout the lifeblood of Bristol-based Corre. It’s a duo of sorts, but not a traditional one: Henry Green is a cult electronic producer, while Hattie Ellis crafts dreamy photography. It’s this sense of opposites attracting, poles magnetising, that the project is built on.
Inspired by the likes of Nils Frahm, Max Richter and Jon Hopkins, Corre’s debut album Form was released in late 2017 on Akira Records and combines acoustic instruments with synth loops, exploring the correlation between synthetic and natural soundscapes.
Their album Rituals was released in summer 2019 and it arrived alongside a short film, set within the mistiness of the Gothenburg Archipelago and is a compelling exploration of warm, minimalist electronica.
“The musical collective’s debut album is filled with a beautiful combination of sounds that prove that contemporary classical music can work in perfect harmony with electronic music.” Love London Love Culture
