Josh Cohen

Josh Cohen is an Australian composer and pianist known for a unique style that merges jazz and modern classical music, as well as spirited live performances inspired by electronic music sets. 

 This synthesis of classical and jazz training underscores Cohen’s sound, and the sense of space, simplicity and intensity of emotion created in his idiosyncratic Radiohead piano arrangements resulted in over 18 million YouTube views and led to releasing an approved Radiohead piano songbook with Faber Music in 2019.  

Cohen’s live performances are also a defining part of his artistry, and his main stage appearances in festivals throughout 2021 and 2022 have fast become critical highlights and audience favourites. A series of live-streamed, improvised events have also enraptured audiences with their audacious energy and dynamism, a vigour which seems more akin to that of a DJ playing a live set than a classical pianist. 

Josh Cohen is currently developing his next major creative project combining original compositions with his distinctive approach to improvisation.
