Anna Meredith Receives MBE

We are incredibly proud to announce that Faber Music composer Anna Meredith is one of the few music-related recipients of an MBE award in the Queen's prestigious birthday honours list for her services to music. She is joined by other notable UK musicians including M.I.A., Elvis Costello and Alfie Boe.

The former BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra composer-in-residence creates music which is frequently described as 'uncategorisable' and 'genre-defying', straddling the different worlds of contemporary classical, art pop, techno, ambient and experimental rock.

Her music has been performed everywhere from the BBC's Last Night of the Proms, to PRADA, Chloe & Fendi fashion campaigns, Apple adverts, films, installations, documentaries, clubs and classical concert halls worldwide. Her debut album Varmints released in 2016 on Moshi Moshi/PIAS received huge critical acclaim with 4 and 5 star reviews from press and media, and her 2018 release Anno with the Scottish Ensemble features both Anna's new music and Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

Anna also soundtracked Bo Burnham's critically acclaimed feature Eighth Grade, which premiered at Sundance and was realised Worldwide and in UK cinemas earlier this year. Her music also features in Yorgos Lanthimos's Oscar nominated film The Favourite.
