Kitt Philippa Signs to Faber Alt.

Faber Alt.’s latest signing comes in the form of Kitt Philippa – a Northern Irish singer-songwriter, who scooped the 2018 Single of the Year accolade at the Northern Ireland Music Prize, with their track ‘Human’.

Following the success of the single, the County Armagh native released their debut album of the same name in October 2019, to widespread critical acclaim from sources such as Sunday Time Culture Magazine, which described the album as 'astonishing'.

Although growing up largely in a classical music environment, Kitt Philippa’s influences have been broad, and their song-writing and performances reflect a craft steeped in contemporary urban and digital soundscapes; from their home life inspirations; to Queen’s University; to an introductory stage talent development scheme at the Oh Yeah Music Centre, Belfast – a dedicated music hub for new talent setup by Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol); to performing their original music live onstage with the Ulster Orchestra at the ripe age of 21 and beyond. Kitt Philippa (KP) has been championed by Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC 6 Music), Tom Robinson, Phil Taggart (BBC Radio 1), Huw Stephens, RTE 2FM, Today FM among others. BBC Entertainment News in their review of The Great Escape 2019 proclaimed,“You can instantly hear why Hozier said, 'impressive is too weak a word' to describe their music.”

“I am delighted to have Faber Alt. on 'Team KP' – they are a safe home for artists and we look forward to working with their dedicated team to support and develop the song-writing repertoire of this special artist.”

Charlene Hegarty, Zero Myth Management.

“All of us at Faber Alt. are so pleased to have signed a world-wide publishing deal with Kitt Philippa. In KP we have signed an artist with fantastic musicality, a sensitive but powerful lyricist, as well as being a talented performer who conveys great emotion. We are really excited to be able to represent their fantastic debut album Human, and look forward to supporting them in their future projects.”
